REWE digital and amb software launch IT excellence center

The agreement to establish REWE digital Poland was formalized in September, marking a strategic partnership between REWE digital — the technology arm of the REWE Group — and amb software, a Polish IT company based in Zielona Góra. Amb software, located in Polish Zielona Góra and German Berlin, has already been an IT partner of REWE digital for many years.

REWE digital Poland is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of this year. This investment will position Poland as a hub for innovative technology development, alongside existing REWE digital locations in Germany, Austria, Spain and Bulgaria. The decision to locate the new IT center in Poland reflects REWE digital’s recognition of the high level of expertise in the Polish IT sector and the significant growth of the technology market in the country.

REWE digital Poland will focus primarily on advanced software engineering and cloud computing expertise. Throughout the next year, the company is expected to grow a substantial team of IT specialists. The company also plans to establish collaborations with technical universities in western Poland, particularly the University of Zielona Góra. These partnerships will enable the IT excellence center to attract emerging talent and foster innovation in cooperation with academic institutions.

The new IT center will concentrate on projects related to the digital transformation of retail and logistics processes, automation of operations, and the development of advanced e-commerce platforms. There are also plans to drive new initiatives in cloud technology.
